Khulna: An alleged robber was injured in a reported gunfight with police in Daulatpur area of city early on Tuesday.

The injured is Delwar Hossain, in his thirties, accused in several robbery cases.

Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station, said that on secret information, a team of police conducted a drive in Kolpataru market while a gang of robber was planning to commit robbery.

Sensing presence of police, the robber gang fired gunshots. The law enforcers also retaliated, triggering the gunfight, leaving Delwar injured with bullet.

Later, he was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
