7 detained over Mymensingh bomb blast

Bhaluk: Police held seven people including owner of a house, where a suspected militant was killed in a bomb explosion in Kashor area of Bhaluka upazil on Sunday afternoon.
The Bhaluka Model Police Officer-in-charge (OC) Mamun Aur Rashid said the detainees were held in the night.
The detainees are Azim Uddin, the house owner, his wife Fatema, his two sons, Ashik and Hassan, and wife and two children of the man who was killed in the explosion. However, identities of the deceased’s wife and children could not be known yet.
A man was killed as a bomb went off at the house in Bhaluka at about 6:00pm. Police claimed the deceased was a member of a militant organisation.
Members police, RAB, and Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) , and Bomb Disposal Unit have cordoned off the house and are conducting drive at the spot.
OC Mamun Aur Rashid said the deceased, came from Kushtia, rented Azim Uddin’s house five days back. He used to live there along with his wife and two children.
Additional police members have been deployed in the area as police suspected presence of explosives inside the house.
However, the house owner could not say the identity of the deceased. He said the man is a resident of Kushtia. He rented the house saying he worked in a factory.
