6 shops gutted in B’baria fire
Brahmanbaria: Six shops were gutted in a fire that broke out at a Photocopy market adjacent to City Centre Market in the district town on Sunday midnight.
Fire service officials said the fire might have been originated from an electric short circuit at a shop and it soon engulfed the adjoining shops.
On information, the firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze, said Jahangir Alam, senior station officer of Brahmanbaria Fire Service.
However, no causalities were reported in the incident, he added.
The affected shops’ owners claimed that the extent of losses caused by the fire would be around Tk 50 lakh.
