7 bombs recovered from M’singh ‘militant den’

Mymensingh: Law enforcers on Monday recovered seven bombs and some bomb making materials from a house in Kashor area of Bhaluka upazila here where a suspected militant was killed in a bomb explosion on Sunday evening.
Mamunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Police Station, said a bomb disposal unit is working to dispose off the bombs.
The OC also said they detained seven people, including house owner Azim Uddin and wife of the slain militant, for interrogation.
A bomb went off at the house around 6:00pm on Sunday while the ‘militant’ was making bombs. Police claimed the deceased was a member of a militant organisation.
The deceased ‘militant’ along with his wife and a child rented the house only five days back identifying him as a factory worker, he said.
Earlier in the morning, police detained seven people over the explosion. The detainees are Azim Uddin, the house owner, his wife Fatema, his two sons, Ashik and Hassan, and wife and two children of the man who was killed in the explosion. However, identities of the deceased’s wife and children could not be known yet.
Members police, RAB, and Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), and Bomb Disposal Unit have cordoned off the house and are conducting drive at the spot.
OC Mamun Aur Rashid said the deceased, came from Kushtia, rented Azim Uddin’s house five days back. He used to live there along with his wife and two children.
