Pirojpur: Two farmers were killed by lightning strike at Ataurkhali village in Bhandaria upazila on Tuesday morning.

The deceased are Jahangir Hossain, about 30 years old and Nasiruddin Hawlader, about 32 years old of the village.

Kamruzzaman Talukder, officer-in-charge of Bhandaria Police Station, said that the lightning struck them while they were working in their paddy field around 10.30 am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
