Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Friday sent the husband of popular singer Mila to jail in a case filed for torturing her for dowry.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mahmudul Islam passed the order after police produced Parvez Sanjari, a pilot of US-Bangla Airlines, before his court seeking a five-day interrogation.

Mila filed the case against Parvez with Uttara West Police Station in Dhaka on Thursday under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, said Sub-inspector Aminul Islam, also the investigation officer of the case.

Soon after the filing of the case, police arrested Parvez, reports news agency UNB.

Tashbiha Binte Shahid Mila, popularly known as Mila, tied the knot with Parvez on 12 May 2017 after over 10 years of relationship.
