Joypurhat: Police recovered the hanging body of a madrasa staff from the classroom in Gupinathpur union of Akkelpur upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Jewel, about 31 years old, son of Musa Khalifa, a resident of Purnandanathpur village, and office assistant of Purnandapinathpur Ali Mahmud Senior Madrasa.

Sources at the madrasa said that students found the door of the classroom locked from inside around 9:30 am and informed the authorities.

Later, the authorities broke the door and found Jewel’s hanging body.

On information, police recovered the body around 11:30 am.

Police primarily suspected that Jewel, who used to keep the keys of the classrooms, committed suicide.
