Bangladesh ICT Expo kicks off in city Wednesday

Dhaka: Bangladesh ICT Expo 2017, a 3-day exposition, will begin at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Wednesday.

This year's exposition, jointly organised by Hi-Tech Park Authority of the ICT Division and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) is going to be held with the slogan 'Make in Bangladesh'.

Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will inaugurate the exposition that will remain open for all from 10am to 8pm.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have issued separate massages regarding the exhibition.

The President said the Information and communication technology is the main driving force behind the government's vision of building a poverty and hunger free modern "Digital Bangladesh".

"Development of Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City in Kaliakoir is continuing in full swing and construction of Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park in Jessore has already been completed. Besides, Janata Tower Software Technology Park is functioning effectively,"he said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said "Digital Bangladesh is not a dream, it is a reality now. We have established 5,275 Union Digital Centres to provide digital service at the doorsteps of million of people."

She hoped that Bangladesh will be one of the most ICT resourceful countries of the world with millions of intelligent and expert workforce.
