Comilla: A field officer of Nielsen Bangladesh Ltd, who sustained stab injuries in Chartha area of the Comilla city on Wednesday afternoon, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at night.

The deceased is Aminur Rahman, about 40 years old, son of Omar Ali, of Shatakhata village in Shalikha upazila of Magura.

Police said a five-member team of the company went to Comilla from Dhaka on an official tour on Wednesday. When they reached Rani Dighir Par area around 3:00 pm, a mugging gang obstructed them and looted their belongings.

Being obstructed, they stabbed Aminur, leaving him injured critically, said Kotwali Police Station OC Salauddin.

The injured was firstly taken to Comilla Medical College Hospital and then shifted to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries around 11:00 pm, the OC added.

No written complaint is yet to be filed. However, police are trying to arrest the criminals, said Salauddin.
