Manikganj: Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River resumed after seven hours of disruption caused by dense fog early Monday.

Manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha Nasir Mohammad Chowdhury said the ferry services were disrupted from 10:30 pm on Sunday to 5:30 am on Monday due to poor visibility caused by thick fog.

Ten ferries at both Paturia and Daulatdia ghats remained stranded while over five hundreds of other vehicles were waiting at the both ghats for crossing the river, he added.

Besides, six ferries were stuck in the middle of the river.

Later, ferry services resumed around 5:30 am as fog disappeared.
