Khagrachhari: An activist of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) was gunned down by miscreants in Harinathpar area under Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Dilip Kumar Chakma alias Binoy, 43, son of Shantos Kumar Chakma of Panchari Manipur area of the upazila.

UPDF sources said when Binoy and some others were sitting in front of a house in the area a group of miscreants appeared there and shot Binoy, leaving him dead on the spot around 8.30am.

However, officer-in-charge of Khagrachhari Sadar Police Station Tarek Mohammad Abdul Hannan said police have not yet found the body.
