Gaibandha: A teenage girl has been raped at Sreerampur village in Sadullapur upazila.

Victim’s grandmother filed a case against Sujon Miah, 27, son of Amzad Akand of the village, with Sadullapur Police Station on Wednesday night over the incident.

According to the case statement, Sujon, a neighbour, took the girl to a sugarcane field when she went there to graze her goats on Wednesday afternoon.

Hearing victim’s screams, local rushed in and rescued the girl but Sujon managed to flee the scene.

Later, the girl was admitted to Gaibandh Modern Sadar Hospital.
