Gazipur: The Awami League and BNP-backed mayoral aspirants will begin their official campaign from today for the upcoming Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) polls scheduled to be held on June 26.

Earlier, AL-backed candidate Jahangir Alam collected his symbol ‘boat’ and BNP-backed Hasan Uddin Sarker collected his symbol ‘paddy stack’ from the regional election commissioner Rakibuddin Mandol, reports the BSS.

Marking the city corporation election, Gazipur Peshajibi Somonnyo Parishad will organise a view exchange meeting at Gazipur Press Club at 11:00am on June 20.
