Two drivers, their assistants held over Sunday’s bus crash in Dhaka
Dhaka: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday arrested two drivers and two helpers of three buses from different parts of the capital in connection with the Sunday’s bus accident that left two college students dead on Mirpur road.
The identities of the arrestees could not be known yet, reports the UNB.
Major Rakib of RAB-1 said the elite force members in an overnight drive on Sunday arrested them from different parts of the capital including Mirpur area.
Earlier on Sunday, Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College, were killed as a bus ploughed through some students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road.
Angered by the tragic incident, the students of the college took to the streets and put up barricades on both sides of the road, disrupting traffic from 1:00pm to 1:45pm.
They also vandalised several vehicles and set fire to two buses, including the killer one.
A case was filed in this connection on Sunday night.
