PM mourns death of Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of renowned journalist and Daily Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar.
In a condolence message, the premier recalled with profound respect the outstanding contributions of Golam Sarwar to the field of journalism. ‘His death is an irreparable loss to this field,’ she said.
Sheikh Hasina said Golam Sarwar took part in all progressive movements in the country and he was always vocal on the question of upholding the liberation war spirit in the country.
‘He (Golam Sarwar) was also involved in all movements of the journalists for realizing their legitimate rights and demands,’ she added.
The prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Golam Sarwar died of old-age complications at a Singapore hospital this evening.
