Bangabandhu’s killer Rashed to be brought back if AL reelected: Anisul
Brahmanbaria: Law Minister Anisul Huq on Tuesday said Bangabandhu’s killer Rashed Chowdhury, hiding in the USA, will be brought back home if Awami League returns to power through the upcoming general election.
‘Bangladesh had successful discussions with the US to this end,’ he said while speaking at a rally at Sirajul Haque Mukta Mancha in Akhaura upazila, marking the death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Anisul said the government is also trying to bring back Noor Chowdhury, another killer of the Father of the Nation, from Canada. ‘However, the Canadian law doesn’t allow the deportation of any foreign national who might face death sentence in his home country. They don’t approve death penalty.’
Criticising BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, the minister alleged that he had rewarded Bangabandhu’s killers employing them at foreign missions.
He also said BNP does not want that Bangladesh moves forward. ‘They want that Bangladesh becomes Pakistan again,’ he said.
