Dhaka: A Bangladesh Chhatra League leader of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) unit was beaten upon the Jahangirnagar University campus on Wednesday for his alleged misbehaviour with JU chief security officer Sudipta Saheen.

The victim is Tahmid Ahmed, a 4th year student of Buet Mechanical Engineering department and resident student of Ahsanullah Hall. He is the Library Affair Secretary of BCL Ahsanullah Hall unit.

Sudipta Saheen claimed that he asked for the identity card after finding Tahmid in a compromising position with a female student in front of the old registrar building around11 am, reports the UNB.

‘Without showing the identity card, he verbally abused me and tried to hit me,’ the security officer said, adding that students who were nearby beat him noticing the incident.

Meanwhile, Tahmid denied the allegation of misbehaviour with the chief security officer.
