Tight security for Victory Day: Home Minister
Dhaka: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Wednesday said tight security measures will be in place for smooth celebrations of the Victory Day on December 16 next, reports the UNB.
He came up with the information while presiding over a meeting on the Victory Day celebrations at his office. The chiefs and senior officials of all the law enforcement agencies attended the meeting.
The home minister said members of law enforcement agencies will remain vigilant to thwart any unwanted situation. ‘There’ll be no parade this year as the national election activities will be underway during that time,’ he said.
The National Mausoleum premises at Savar will remain under surveillance cameras to ensure fool-proof security, Asaduzzaman said.
Besides, stringent security arrangements have been taken to celebrate the Victory Day in district towns across the country. ‘Adequate law enforcers will be deployed to fend off any unwanted incident,’ he said.
