Dhaka: BNP on Sunday alleged that its chairperson Khaleda Zia’s nomination paper has been cancelled as part of government blueprint to hold a lopsided election.
‘We think, it’s an ill-motivated decision. Our leader’s (Khaleda Zia) nomination papers have been rejected as part of government a master plan and a blueprint to keep her away from the election,’ said BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, reports the UNB.
Speaking at a press confence, BNP Nayapaltan central office, he also alleged their party’s some other popular candidate nomination papers were also annulled as the government is trying to hold a unilateral election and stay in power by force.
The Election Commission rejected the nomination papers of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for contesting the parliamentary election from Feni-1 constituency due to her conviction in two corruption cases.
