PM reaches Sylhet to address election rally

Sylhet: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived here on the 2nd day of her election tour.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying Sheikh Hasina landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 10:50am, reports the UNB.

The Prime Minister will begin her election campaign here by offering ziarat at the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA).

She will later offerziarat at the shrines of Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) and Hazrat Gazi Borhanuddin (RA) on the outskirts of the holy city.

The Awami League (AL) chief will address an election rally of her party at Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa Ground at 2:30pm.

Upon her arrival in the holy city in the morning, the prime minister will offer ziarah at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA), Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) and Hazrat Gazi Borhanuddin (RA),reports the BSS.

The Awami League president kicked off her election campaign from Gopalganj on December 12 by placing wreaths at the shrine of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara.

In the third leg of her election tour, the prime minister will visit Rangpur on December 23.

She will address two separate polls rallies at Taraganj and Pirganj in Rangpur, the sources said.
