Former Awami League General Secretary and Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam died at a hospital in Bangkok on Thursday night. He was 68.

The Press Wing at Prime Minister’s office confirmed the news. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her grief following his death, the Press Wing said in a statement.
