Noakhali: Detectives in a drive arrested another accused from Gouriur in Cumilla district early Friday in a case over the ‘gang-rape’ of a woman at Charbajuli village in Subarnachar upazila on December 31.

The arrestee was identified as Jamaluddin alias Henju Majhi, 29, an ‘ezhar’ listed accused of the case, reports the UNB.

Tipped off, a team of DB police conducted a drive in Gouripur of Cumilla district and arrested Henju Majhi, who remained absconding since the incident came to light, said Abul Khayer, inspector of DB police.

With this, 11 people have so far been arrested over the gang-rape.

Earlier, a total six accused Salauddin, Abu lHossain,Mohammad Sohel and Jashim Uddin made confession over the gang-rape.

On January 5, seven accused — Sohel, Jasim, BadshahAlamBasu, Ruhul Amin, Hasan Ali Bhulu, Swapan and Bechhu — were placed on a five-day remand in the case.

The woman, a mother of four, was gang-raped at Charjubli village in the upazila on December 31 by a gang of 10-12 people allegedly being ordered by Ruhul Amin after the general election.
