The Sri Lanka suicide bomber who studied in the UK has been named as Abdul Lathief Jameel Mohamed, reports the metro.co.uk.

Mohamed is understood to have studied in the southeast of England between 2006 and 2007 and later did his postgraduate study in Australia before settling in Sri Lanka, security sources told Sky News.

He was one of nine terrorists behind a series of blast targeting luxury hotels and churches in Sri Lanka, which killed 359 people, including 45 children and eight Brits on Easter Sunday. State Minister of Defence Ruwan Ruwan Wijewardene said investigators were now looking into the background of the nine suicide bombers – one of whom was female. He said during a press conference that all nine of the bombers were well educated and from wealthy families.

Isis claimed responsibility for the atrocity, which saw suicide bombers blow themselves up at three churches and three hotels across the country.
