PM gives financial assistance to BNP-Jamaat torture victim

Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday gave Tk 20 lakh as financial assistance to Anwara Begum, a victim of torture unleashed by BNP-Jamaat terrorists during their 2001-2006 tenure, of Chakoria municipality in Cox’s Bazar district, reports the UNB.
Briefing reporters, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said Sheikh Hasina handed over a cheque for the financial assistance to Anwara Begum at her Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban office in the evening.
The BNP-Jamaat terrorists inflicted torture on the family of Anwara Begum as her two sons -- Mozaffar Hossain Paltu and Saddam Hossain Mintu – had actively been involved in Awami League politics.
