Aritree suicide: Court accepts charge-sheet against 2 Viqarunnisa teachers
Dhaka: A court here on Tuesday accepted the charge-sheet against the former principal and the Bailey Road branch head of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College in a case filed on charges of provoking a ninth-grader student to commit suicide, reports the UNB.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yeasir Ahsan Chowdhury took cogniance of the charge-sheet against the two teachers – former principal Zinnat Ara and branch head Nazneen Ferdous.
The court also exempted Hasna Hena, class teacher of Aritree, from the charges.
The court asked for sending the case documents to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Zahidul Kabir.
On March 20 last, Detective Branch Inspector Quamrul Hasan Talukdar, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge-sheet against the two teachers before the court.
Aritree Adhikari, a Class-IX student, committed suicide at their Shantinagar residence in the city on December 3 after allegedly being rebuked by teachers for using mobile phone during examination.
Victim’s father Dilip Adhikari filed a case against three teachers of the school.
