Mentally-challenged teen ‘gang-raped’ in Chandpur; 2 held
Chandpur: A mentally-challenged teenage girl was reportedly gang-raped by two people at Amujan in Kachua upazila on Saturday.
Shah Alam, officer-in-charge of Shahrasti Police Station, said Fahim, 22, a taxi driver and son of Jahangir, along with a teenage boy, aged 17, took the 19-year-old girl of Debipur village in Shahrasti upazila to a forest in Kachua when she went to a mango orchard beside her house on Saturday to pick fallen mangoes, reports the UNB.
Later, they violated the girl in turns at the forest.
Noticing the girl crying and her torn dresses, locals caught the duo and gave them a good beating.
On information, police arrested them and sent the girl to Chandpur General Hospital on Saturday night for medical test.
Meanwhile, victim’s mother filed a case with Shahrasti Police Station, said sub-inspector Mohammad Kutubuddin.
Police produced them before the court when they reportedly gave confessional statements under section 164.
