Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey Padak winning poet Hayat Saif.

In a condolence message, she prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family, the UNB reported.

Saif, an eminent poet and translator, breathed his last at the United Hospital in Dhaka in the early hours of Monday.
