Dhaka: iPhone-8, the latest version of mobile phone set of giant Apple brand, was formally launched today here for Bangladesh market with a call for buying the set from authorised sellers to evade from having fake or refurbish sets.

Compustar PVT Limited (CPL), the authorised distributor of iPhone in Bangladesh, launched the new iPhone 8 at a ceremony at its Gulshan office here, said a press release.

While speaking at the launching ceremony, CPL Chairman Raquibul Kabir described various features and benefits of buying the latest version of the iPhone.

Kabir urged the mobile phone users to buy the iPhone handset from authorised reseller since many unauthorised handset traders sell fake or refurbished iPhones. He said Bangladesh government is also losing a huge amount of duty from this sell of unauthorised mobile handsets.

‘We don’t want to see people buying fake or refurbished iPhones with the price of new one,’ he said, adding ‘As you will spend good amount of money for the high-end phone, make sure that you are buying the new phone not the refurbished one.’
