Sophia, the world’s first artificially intelligent robot from Hanson Robotics, on Wednesday expressed her gratitude through a video massage as the ICT Division of Bangladesh invited her to join this year’s Digital World expo in Dhaka.

In the video Sofia said: ‘Hello Bangladesh, I’m Sophia- The world’s first Artificially Intelligent Robot from Hanson Robotics. I’m excited to let you know that me and Dr. David Hanson will participate in this year’s Digital World 2017 in Dhaka. I cannot wait to be a part of this great event. I thank to ICT Division Bangladesh Government and Islami Bank Bangladesh to create this opportunity for us. Hope to see you all there. Dhonnobaad.’

Earlier State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Tuesday said at a press conference,  ‘People will be able to meet and talk with Sophia, the human like robot on the first day of Digital World exhibition on December 6 from 2:30 pm to 4 pm at Banganandhu International Conference Centre in the city.’

‘On the occasion of this year’s Digital World Expo, we invited the first ever social robot Sophia and its creator David Hanson, they will reach Dhaka on December 5,’ he said.

The four-day expo will start on December 6 and conclude on December 9.

Sophia was given Saudi citizenship earlier this year, making her the first robot ever to get such a status from a country.
