Dhaka: In an effort to encourage foreign investment in ICT sector, Bangladesh has offered incentive package for investors to pave the way for boosting ICT based-development programmes to make the country an advanced one, reports BSS.

State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, “I urge Japanese investors to invest in IT sector of Bangladesh as we are offering incentives to encourage foreign investment in the country.”

Palak made the call while inaugurating a Bangladeshi stall at the Japan IT Week in Tokyo.

Bangladeshi Ambassador to Japan Masud Bin Momen, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council SM Ashraful Islam and additional secretary of ICT Division Md Harun-Rashid, among others, were present on the occasion.

After inauguration of the IT stall, Palak made a power point presentation at a seminar held at the IT week highlighting different significant programmes taken to build a “Digital Bangladesh”.

As Japan is one of the leading IT advanced countries in the world, Palak said Bangladesh will participate in Japan IT Week every year to boost ties of the two countries in the field of ICT.

A seven-member team led by Zunaid Ahmed Palak is representing Bangladesh in Japan IT Week, the biggest IT fair of Japan that began on 13 May and to continue for days.
