Fierce tigers pounce on markhors
Bangladesh crushed Pakistan as a 105-run Shakib-Sabbir partnership brought an easy 7-wicket win for Tigers in the only Twenty20 match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Friday.
Both Shakib and Sabbir hit half centuries after Bangladesh lost 3 wickets for 38 runs.
Shakib scored 57 runs from 41 balls with 9 fours while Sabbir scored 51 runs from 32 balls with 7 fours and 1 six.
This is the first win for Bangladesh over Pakistan in T20.
Earlier, Pakistan scored 141 losing 5 wickets.
Pakistan opener Mukhtar Ahmed was the highest scorer for Pakistan with 37 runs. Besides, Haris Sohail was not out for 30 runs and Hafeez added 26 runs.
Debutant Mustafizur bagged the wickets of Mohammad Hafeez and Shahid Afridi while Taskin Ahmed, Arafat Sunny took one wicket each.
Private satellite television GTV telecast the match live that kicked off at 6:30pm.
Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to bat first.
Bangladesh took to the field today with a upper hand as they have already completed whitewash against Pakistan in the three-match ODI series, although the record said Bangladesh lost all the last seven matches against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, batsman Litton Das and left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, both uncapped, have been included in the Bangladesh squad for the only T20 international against Pakistan.
Bangladesh have replaced Mominul Haque and Rubel Hossain - who has been rested - in the team that won the ODI series.
Pakistan made wholesale changes, and gave debuts to Mohammad Rizwan and Mukhtar Ahmed.
After the lone T20 match the two side then move to Khulna to play the first Test of two-match Test series scheduled to be held on 28 April to 2 May in Khulna.
