Skidding van leaves two Bangladeshis dead in Malaysia

Two Bangladeshis were killed while six others were injured when the van they were travelling in skidded near the East Coast Highway of Kuantan in Malaysia on Wednesday afternoon, reports Straits Times.
Temerloh district police Chief ACP Zundin Mahmood said one of the deceased is Hossain Forhad, in his thirties, a contract worker, while the other victim’s identity had yet to be established.
He said the identity of five other Bangladeshis who were injured in the crash have yet to be confirmed.
The van driver, Mohammad Kamarul Baharin, in his fifties, from Rawang, Selangor who is also the supervisor of an engineering company, was also injured during the accident at about 4:45pm.
‘The accident is believed to have been caused by the sleepy driver which resulted the van to skid into a drain on the left side of the road,’ he said.
He added that the bodies and all injured were sent to the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Kuantan.
