A man collapsed and died on stage after dancing at an award ceremony in India.

Vishnu Pandey was collecting an award as part of travel agents prize giving but collapsed and later died.

Footage shows that as Pandey’s name is called, he runs up to the stage jigging to a Bollywood song amid cheers from the audiences, reports the Story Trender.

Wearing a grey safari suit, he continues to dance round the stage at the event in Agra, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

But within a matter of 16 seconds, the businessman from Mumbai loses his balance and collapses on to the stage, leaving everyone stunned.

Audience members quickly rushed to his aid and he was taken to hospital, where he was later declared dead.

The doctors said that Pandey had died from a cardiac arrest.

One of the organisers, who wished not to named, said: ‘Everyone present during the function was left shell shocked that we lost such a charismatic and entertaining person within a matter of some seconds.’
