Video: Pakistani teen shot dead for refusing marriage proposal
A teenager was shot dead in the street after rejecting a man who wanted to marry her, prosecutors in Pakistan believe.
Mehwish Arshad, 18, died as a result of the attack in Faisalabad, which was caught in deeply upsetting CCTV footage.
A former colleague has been arrested on suspicion of her murder, reports the Mirror.
The clip shows Mehwish, a bus hostess, being confronted by a man on a flight of stairs.
He was also seen manhandling her while holding her at gunpoint.
Suddenly she can be seen recoiling after being shot in the stomach.
The teenager collapsed, and was seen writhing in pain after suffering the fatal injury.
A security guard employed at the bus company Mehwish used to work at has been arrested.
Umer Daraz is accused of her murder, Daily Pakistan reports.
The CCTV footage was widely shared on social media after the horrific shooting. The victim is believed to have been on her way home when she was killed.
