Mamata seeks vote for Aam Aadmi
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asked the Delhi people to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi's assembly polls which is scheduled to be held on Saturday (7 February).
In a Twitter post, Mamata on Thursday said, "My request to all of you in Delhi to please vote for AAP. For the greater need of the country and development in Delhi".
Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata has 15 thousand followers in Twitter.
The AAP led by former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are the main contestants in Saturday's polls for the 70-member Delhi assembly, The Hindu reports.
The Times of India reports that only a day after CPM general secretary Prakash Karat had asked cadres to do the same in non-Left seats, Mamata announced this.
It is almost unprecedented for Trinamool and the Left to be on the same page on a political matter but a common enemy has achieved the impossible, The Times of India added.
