Bihar's ruling Janata Dal expels CM Manjhi
Patna, India: Bihar's ruling Janata Dal (United) [JD-U] on Monday expelled Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi from the party for six years, chief whip Shrawan Kumar said.
‘(JD-U) national president Sharad Yadav has expelled Manjhi from the party for anti-party activities,’ said Shrawan Kumar, who is considered close to Nitish Kumar.
Nitish Kumar was re-elected JD-U legislature party leader on Saturday.
Kumar told IANS that party has also informed Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi about the party's decision that Manjhi has been expelled from the JD-U.
‘Manjhi is no longer with JD-U. It is final,’ he said.
Kumar said that Manjhi is no longer a JD-U legislator after party has expelled him.
Manjhi arrived here from Delhi Monday, a day after he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and announced that he won't resign. He said he will prove majority in the state Assembly.
