Noakhali: A housewife was killed allegedly by her brother-in-law at Darafpur village of Jirtoli union under Begumganj upazila of Noakhali on Monday.

The victim is Sheuli Akhter, 28, wife Abbas Uddin.

Police said Hasan, 22, chopped his sister-in-law Sheuli to death at her room at about 11:00am over an unknown matter.

After hearing hue and cry inmates of the house went to her room and found Sheuli dead.

Later, locals caught Hasan and handed him over to police.

Begumganj police officer-in-charge Golam Faruq said police recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali General Hospital morgue.

A case was filed in this connection.
