Narayanganj: The house of Narayanganj City Corporation councillor Shah Jalal Badal came under attack by miscreants in Siddhirganj here on Monday night, leaving his eight supporters injured. 

Witnesses said a group of 30-40 miscreants launched the attack on the house of Badal, also president of Siddhirganj thana unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League and nephew of suspended councillor Nur Hossain, at Rasulbagh Battala at about 8:45pm when the NCC councillor was at the thana Awami League office. 

The attackers also fired several gunshots and swooped on the supporters of Badal. 

Meanwhile, locals demanded arrest of the attackers. They also gave Tofail Hossain who allegedly led the attack a mass beating, leaving him injured. 

He was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital.
