Jhalakati: A young man died falling from a betel-nut tree at Shirjug village in Sadar upazila of Jhalakati on Thursday.

The deceased is Mohammad Rabiul, 35, son of Alamgir Hossain of the village.

Local people said Rabiul suddenly fell from a betel-nut tree at his home yard while picking the nuts at about 8:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.

A case was filed with Jahalakati Police Station in this connection.
