3 killed in Cox’s Bazar road crash
Cox’s Bazar: Three people, including a couple, were killed and seven others injured in a collision between a bus and a microbus on Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway in Janarghona area of Cox’s Bazar town on early Friday.
The deceased are Mridul Das, a resident of Gari Math area of the town, his wife Swapna Das and microbus driver Mintu Barua, son of Badu Barua, a resident of Chakoria Sadar upazila.
Witnesses and police said a Cox’s Bazar-bound ‘Hanif Paribahan’ bus collided with the Chittagong-bound microbus in the area at about 6:00am, leaving Swapna and Mintu dead on the spot and eight other passengers of the microbus injured.
Critically injured, Mridul died on the way to hospital.
The other injured were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station officer-in-charge Aslam Hossain confirmed the incident.
