Ganojagoran Mancha has called a half-day countrywide hartal on Tuesday protesting the killing of Jagriti Prokashony publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan and the murder attempt on three others including Shuddhwashawr publisher Ahmed Rashid Tutul.

The strike will be in force from 6:00am to 12:00 noon.

Ganojagoran Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarker called the hartal from a rally at Shahbagh in Dhaka on Sunday.

The platform also said that the hartal decision will be reconsidered if the killers are arrested within 24 hours.

Faisal Arefin Dipan, the owner of Jagriti Prokashony, a publication house, was hacked to death at Shahbagh’s Aziz Supermarket in Dhaka on Saturday.

Besides, Ahmed Rashid Tutul, the owner of the publication house Shuddhaswar, and two other writers were hacked by a group of unidentified assailants at the office of the publication house in Dhaka’s Lalmatia.
