A teacher of Rajshahi University (RU) was killed when a covered-van hit his motorcycle in Chamrapatti rail crossing area of Natore on Wednesday morning.
The deceased is Professor Dr Abu Yunus Khan Mohammad Jahangir, believed to be 40, a teacher of Arabic Department of the university.
Police said the accident took place at about 7:45am while he along with his son was going to his home district Sirajganj from Rajshahi by riding his motorcycle, leaving them injured.

They were rushed to Natore Sadar Hospital from where Abu Yunus Khan was referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) as his condition deteriorated.

Later, he succumbed to his injures on way to RMCH at about 10:00am.

RMCH police camp in-charge Enamul Haque confirmed the incident.
