Khulna: International Television Channel Limited (NTV) has distributed blankets among the winter-hit poor people in Khulna.

About 200 destitute persons received the gifts from guests and NTV personnel at a programme held in front of NTV Khulna office on Saturday morning.

Inaugurating the programme, Khulna acting mayor Anisur Rahman Biswas said, ‘It’s a great initiative by NTV. People of this southern part of the country face natural calamities every year. NTV, alongside other professional, political, cultural, and social organisations, always stood by the people of this area.’

Khulna NTV Viewers’ Forum president Humayun Kabir Babul said, ‘NTV chairman and managing director

Alhaj Mohammad Mosaddak Ali always stretches his hand for the winter-hit people every year. He also stood by the people suffering from natural disasters.’

Khulna Metropolitan Journalist Union general secretary Hasan Ahmed Molla said, ‘I hope NTV will continue these types of initiative for the welfare of the destitute people.’
