4 killed in road accidents
At least four people were killed in two separate road accidents in Tangail and Comilla in the early hours of Thursday.
Two people were killed and nine others were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in Soratoil area of Kalihati upazila early on Thursday.
The deceased are Azizul Islam, unit commander of Ishwardi Muktijodha Sangsad in Pabna, and Shahidul Islam, resident of Daulatpur in Kushtia.
The Banghabandhu Bridge (East) police said a collision took place between a bus and a truck in the area at about 1:30am, leaving two people dead on the spot and nine others injured.
The injured were admitted to Tangail Medical College Hospital.
In another accident, two people were killed and an injured as a bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Borokanta area of Debidwar upazila in Comilla on Thursday morning.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
The Moynamoti Highway police said the accident took place on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in the area at about 7:00am when a Chittagong-bound Unique Paribahan bus hit the auto-rickshaw, leaving two people dead on the spot and the auto-rickshaw driver injured.
The injured was admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
