Rajshahi: A worker was killed and another critically injured as a boiler of a rice mill blasted at Tiktiki para of Poba upazila in Rajshahi on Friday morning.

The deceased is Mukul Hossain, 40, son of Naimuddin of Bakshoil village of the upazila, reports UNB, a local news agency.

Quoting witness, police said the boiler of the rice mill blasted with a big bang while the workers were cleaning it at about 9:30am, leaving Mukul dead on the spot and Abu Bakkar critically injured.

Injured Bakkar, son of the boiler owner, was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

On information, police visited the spot, said Poba police officer-in-charge Shariful Islam.
