A construction worker was killed as an iron plate fell on him while he was working in an under-construction building site in the Kathalbagan area in Dhaka on Saturday.

The deceased is Hashem, believed to be35.

Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital said the incident took place at about 9:00am when a heavy iron plate fell on the body of Hashem during pilling work of an under-construction building, leaving him critically injured.

Al-Amin, a co-worker of the victim, brought Hashem to the hospital around 10am where he died around 10:15am.
