Dhaka: A man was died due to suffocation as a fire broke out at a 10-storey building in the capital’s Motijheel commercial area on Monday morning.

Fire service headquarters telephone operator Ziaur Rahman said the fire broke out at the third floor of Haji Mansion at about 11:45am.

Fire fighters went to the spot and doused the blaze at about 12:15pm.

Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Motijheel police said the body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
