Khagrachhari: At least two people were killed and another was injured early Tuesday as a minibus ploughed into a group of people who put up a barricade on the road to check the suspicious speedy movement of the vehicle in Amtoli area of Manikchhari upazila of Khagrachhari.

The deceased are Arif Hossain, in his twenties, and Mahidul Islam, around 35 years old, of Jaliapara area in the district.

The injured Jamal Hossain was rushed to local hospital in critical condition, said Moyeen Uddin Khan, officer-in-charge of Manikchhari Police Station.

Some locals barricaded the road in Amtoli area around 4:15am following the suspicious movement of a minibus. During the time, the driver drove the minibus into the barricade, leaving two people dead on the spot and one injured, said the OC.
