Bogra: Three people were killed and 14 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Dhonkundi Food village area of Sherpur upazila on Friday morning.

One of the deceased was identified as Abdul Jalil, 65, hailing from Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha district.

Khan Md Erfan Ali, officer-in-charge of Sherpur Police Station, said that the accident took place when the Gaibandha-bound 'Barnali Special Paribahan' bus collided with the Dhaka-bound maize-laden truck around 11am, leaving Jalil dead on the spot and 16 other people injured.

Among the injured, one died at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital and another on the way to Bogra.
