Narail: Two people were killed as a motorcycle crashed into a tree after striking a pedestrian at Sadar upazila in Narail on Saturday night.

The deceased are Shyamoli Biswas, in her seventies, a resident of Bhadulibhanga, and Bashbhita area’s Mahmudul Hassan Shaon, around 16 years old.

The Narail Sadar police Officer-in-charge (OC) Delwar Hossain said Shaon was travelling to Narail from Bhadulidanga on a motorcycle, when he lost his control over the vehicle and hit Shyamoli Biswas on the Narail-Mulia Road at about 9:30pm. Shyamoli died on the spot. Meanwhile, the motorcycle banged into a roadside tree and left Shaon dead.

Later, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Sadar Hospital morgue.
